Ambyerveld is a new housing estate in the north of Maastricht. The municipality of Maastricht is making a total of 37 free plots available for detached houses.
The plan of a zero-energy house by Vilanueva Architect is part of a series of housing typologies as an example for future residents. The plan was assessed by a committee and tested against the image quality plan.
The design of a sustainable energy neutral home within an abstract context is achieved because the installations (heat recovery, solar panels, ground heat and cold storage, etc.) are easily hidden from view. Due to the optimal integration with the quiet green environment and a balanced indoor climate, great living comfort is created.
The introverted character of the front and side walls gives privacy while the rear opens up to the garden. The cupboard as an interior element forms the basis of the organization and results in flexible spatial qualities that perfectly match the wishes of the resident. Within the clear 3-division of the floor plans, the resident has the choice to adapt the layout to his own living requirements without losing architectural qualities.
