A creative office for stationery and paper products is situated in the plinth of an apartment complex . Where previously their creative team and purchasing/logistics team were located in separate closed areas, the wish is to create more solidarity and synergy in an inspiring working environment in the new office.
This results in an open floor plan design in which space, light and communication come into their own. The two zones for the creative and logistics team with workplaces on the glass facade are visually separated by a functional central block. The lower central block stands in the high space as an autonomous object, which is partly reinforced by the vertical wooden slatted structure that deviates from the black cupboard walls and the gray and white floor and ceiling.
A circulation space is created around the central block with functions such as a pantry and the creative heart with a large table.
Floor-to-ceiling cupboard walls move as a continuous movement along the existing inner walls and connect the various functions in the office. An executive office and meeting room are separated from the open space by glass partitions.
The use of gloomy material and color in combination with minimal detailing such as concealed doors creates a calm ‘canvas’ in which sufficient space remains for the agency’s own identity and its changing (usually colorful) product lines that change and are displayed per season. .
The combination of the sleek spatial interior and the colorful prints of the product lines on display together form an inspiring working environment with its own representative identity.
